The Doktopus app welcomes all our festival guests to the second edition of DOK.forum @home, the industry platform of DOK.fest München. DOK.fest München is the largest film festival solely dedicated to documentary film in Germany.

With this AR app, you can discover this year’s programme and dive deep into the festival programme. Download the App and watch out for the Doktopus symbol to find the trigger points on our website or on the programme poster. Scan them to bring the Doktopus into your living room. It will for sure give you all the information you need to be a part of this year’s DOK.forum. With the Doktopus, you can make use of the services and input we offer, to network, develop your project or to stay up to date about the latest narrative and technical trends of the industry.

Our public events, the DOK.forum perspectives have several programme sections the Doktopus will present to you: with Re:arranging Reality, we will focus on post-production in documentary film in 2021. With our workshops and consultancies on impact production, festival strategies and international co-production, we offer valuable training opportunities. The DOK.digital award and exciting case studies on virtual documentary narration highlight new trends in documentary storytelling. In addition, we will look at current media policy from the perspective of developments caused by the pandemic.

You can also find out about some projects that are selected for our co-production market, the DOK.forum Marketplace. As a platform for ideas and co-production, the DOK.forum Marketplace invites 50 selected documentary projects in development this year. They are matched with experts such as commissioning editors, producers, funding representatives, distributors and sales agents to develop their project further. The Doktopus will present the projects that are selected for our Rough Cut Screenings and for the Master’s Pitch – the public event of DOK.forum Marketplace.
